When it comes to being a pet owner, it can be difficult at times knowing where to turn for answers to questions you have about your pet. If you have a general question about a non-life threating issue, you might find it helpful to search for websites that deal with the problem. There are many sites and articles that can answer common questions you might have about such things as your cat's skin or weight. I have found pet medical sites such as WebVet, PetWave, and Petside are very helpful in answering my questions and supplying helpful information I have about my cat. While these sites can give advice on how to treat or care for your cat's issue, they should not be taken as an alternative to seeking professional help if your cat is displaying a serious issue.
It is very important that you know your cat's normal behavior because it can be hard to realize there is a problem until it is at a serious point and needs attention by a professional. Here are a few symptoms that  something might be seriously wrong with your cat and you need to consult a veterinarian: if your cat is displaying behaviors uncommon to his/her normal behavior (hissing or hiding), is eating quicker than usual, irregular breathing or continously coughing, not eating/drinking for a long period (more than 12 hours), or vomiting.

Some health plans will reimburse you for costs spent on accidents, illnesses, and routine preventive care. Most plans cover treatments such as: bite wounds, bladder infections, burns, ear infections, and tumors. This is not all the treatments they will cover but a general overview. However, some will not cover particular birth defects, breed-specific genetic disorders, or a pre-existing condition unless stated in the plan. Ultimately, the healthcare plan that you choose is up to you and your cat's needs. Since your cat is a member of the family, doesn't he/she deserve the best health care plan to ensure a long life with the family.
